The lakebed revealed
Scenes of Great Salt Lake in summer of 2022. The lake has lost half its surface area and nearly a thousand square miles of lakebed are exposed. The exposed lakebed creates two extreme environmental hazards, including the collapse of a globally important ecosystem supporting ten million birds, and toxic dust from the dry lakebed becoming airborne in dust storms.
